Next, pour the cooked oatmeal over top of the fruit.

Finally, add a spoonful of peanut butter! (I actually decided to use crunchy peanut butter, so feel free to do the same if you want an extra crunch!)

Last, but not least, you will want to give everything one final stir. This will allow the berries to share some of the delicious fruit juice with the rest of the oatmeal and distribute the creamy peanut butter throughout!

And there you have it! Peanut butter and jelly with the excellent source of energy and fiber from the oats! Enjoy!!
Peanut Butter and “Jelly” Oatmeal
Serves: 1
Total Time: 10-15 minutes
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup frozen or fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries work best to mimic the flavor of jam!)
- 1 T natural, creamy peanut butter
STEPS:
- Add 1 cup of milk to a saucepan and turn heat to high. Allow the milk to come to a boil.
- After the milk boils, add the oats to the saucepan and reduce heat to medium.
- Stir in the oats, making sure to skim the bottom of the saucepan so that the milk does not stick. Stir occasionally for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oats are tender.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow to sit as you move on to the next step.
- Add fresh blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries to a bowl. If using frozen fruit, follow the defrosting instructions on the bag of fruit.
- Add the cooked oats over top of the fruit and stir to distribute.
- Measure out 1 T of peanut butter and add to the serving of oatmeal.
- Give the contents a final stir, serve, and enjoy!
